I have always had a keen interest in the structure and function of the human body. This interest saw me study Biomedical Sciences at Aberdeen University after I left school. In 2000 I graduated with an honours degree in Biomedical Sciences (Physiology). However, with an uncertainty of how I would combine this degree with my want to work with people I returned to university and gained my Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work. I have been working in Social Work for over 12 years.
I am a keen sportsperson and am a member of my local hockey team and also running club. My new found love is hill-running and although I will never win any races I thoroughly enjoy escaping up the Ochil Hills as often as I can. I also have a horse and have competed in riding club activities and jumping competitions.
All this activity has seen me gain many injuries over the years and I have sought support from Doctors (including surgeons), Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Massage Therapists with a range of results. The quest to fix my broken bits rejuvenated my interest in the human body and sparked an interest in therapies that benefit and support healing and recovery. This lead me to study for a Diploma in Swedish Massage last year and then a Diploma in Remedial and Sports Massage that I completed in August 2017.
I have recently returned to Kinross, where I grew up, and have purchased a property in Crook of Devon, where I shall base my business from.
MCB Massage Therapy is my movement into starting my own business and sharing the benefits of Remedial and Sports Massage Therapy within the county of Kinross and surrounding areas.
Currently I am still working full-time in Social Work so am offering my services mainly during evenings and weekends.
